Where is the idea for Sam Wood's Roulette Hit from?
Written by Sam Wood

CasinoAfter reading this article you will know how Sam Wood's Roulette Hit came to life and what a valueable strategy is built in in this program algorithm. With my story I want to confirm that everybody can share success at the Roulette table if he has the necessary courage and applies a strategy that leads him to become a winner.

When I flew to the States many many years ago to start a big motorcycle tour together with some other guys my life was not very positive. I had managed to save the money for this dream tour and I wanted to get out of my everyday life for this four weeks ahead of us. First of all I had to celebrate a wonderful birthday and my gift was this trip through the States. The second thing was I really needed a vacation for my nerves. So all the bikers appeared at the airport Frankfurt for our flight to Miami. Up till then we did not know each other but became familiar with each other on that flight. The tour was called Coast to Coast and lasted four weeks, starting from Miami in Florida and ending up 3600 miles later in LA.

A great thing when I received my Harley Heritage Softail in dark-green! This thing looked great and I caressed the body and the tank and when I finally started up the motor, the hoarse, dull bubbling shivered down my spine. Slowly I turned at the gas and that monster screamed aggressively and powerfully. Now I had to put the helmet on, jumped into the saddle and put in the first gear. After the first miles behind Miami I felt how I left all my worries and negative thoughts far behind.

At that time I left a lot of worries and personal problems back home in Europe, the bills piled up and we often had money problems. We drove always decrepit cars and lived in really restricted circumstances. I was working as a programmer, an experienced one, always earned my salary but the liabilities and obligations eated us up. Anyway - at that time the future looked a little dull.

Maybe you are just in a similar mood and can imagine how I felt then. But then, on this unique and fantastic tour through the southern states on day a serious change entered my life however. We had reached Las Vegas fourteenth day of our splendid trip. Las Vegas is the world capital of the gambles in the middle of the desert of Nevada, soon after the Hoover dam and probably no other city in the world consists of as many Casinos as this gamblers' paradise. We stayed at the perfect Treasure Island and of course after dinner some of us recovered in the Casino of Ceasar's Palace. The atmosphere and the ambiente there impressed me very much and I watched the many extremely well looking, well dressed girls, the men with their fat cigars, all the glitter, the pomp and wealth around us.

And in this glamorous athmosphere I suddenly felt the irresistible urge to try to escape my terrifying circumstances by trying a game. But big money I could only earn with poker or roulette and not at the slot machines. But when had I played poker the last time? It must have been still at school, a very long time ago. Did I still know the rules or should I better give roulette a try? At the next roulette table from me I watched a sympathetic guy who played calm and collected and seemed to win almost every round. I noticed that he principally bet on the simple chances only but on every spin used high value chips of 500 or 1000 $.

He studied the sequences of the numbers (permanences) at the ad very alertly and wrote them on a sheet of paper. I noticed that he pulled a line under a string of numbers before he put his next bet on the table. This seemed to mean anything special. The likelihood for a winning bet was around 75 - 80% but could that be possible? Was there eventually a sort of frame-up between him and the dealer? But on the other hand the team at the table changed every 30 minutes and the player could not be in cahoots with all the dealers here! This young fellow fascinated me with his kind of calmness and the indifference he showed piling up the chips before him at the table. You could watch how some of the girls around the table began to show interest on him, however he seemed to ignore that gazes. A short smile played around his lips but he kept on betting and cashing concentrated.

I could read in his face that he was here only with the purpose to win. I tried to have a glance at the hieroglyphs on his paper but unfortunately could not decipher anything from my place. His notes must have contained a sort of hidden hint or signal telling him to bet right now. But how could that work? In the meantime I had placed a few bets on a single number and of course I had lost, my chances seemed too be low. The lucky streak of this young lad seemed incredibly, approximately two thirds of his bets brought him profits! When I had lost all my money I plucked up courage and asked him how he could have so incredible much luck? He took me aside and said in a quiet voice: "Sir, believe it or not but my success here has only little to do with a lucky streak me, I play a system, I use a strategy. What you can see here happens almost every time I am here!"

I stared at him because I could not believe my ears. When he noticed my astonished expression, he smiled and made me a proposal. "Accompany me a few days on my Vegas tour if you like. Watch me play and bet and you will see it yourself. If I have made enough money I will go back to my farm." Of course I took him at his word and on the following day he played at the Casino in the hotel Treasure Island where I stayed. There he was even more successful that day and almost won every spin. I became more and more tongue-tied because his lucky streak was against any logic and mathematical probability. That day he won a few thousand dollars within a few hours at the Casino!

On the third day we arranged to meet in the Monte Carlo. This Casino is a noble Casino which lies right in the heart of Las Vegas. Around that house there are many attractions like the Guggenheim museum, Madame Tussaud's Wax museum or the Adventure Dome Amusement park. The absolute specialty of the Monte Carlo is Roulette of course and Joe, this born winner, went on winning there, it was like a miracle. Beautiful women stepped at him and tried to begin a conversation with him. He was always friendly, gentleman-like and showed his best manners, but he remained loyal to the Roulette table however.

As we sat together about midnight at the bar he must have noticed my inquiring, almost desperate gaze. I told him about my desperate financial situation at home and asked him to let me know his secret, but Joe said: "That would not be right, you must find yourself out how it works. It is only a matter of time, believe me, and when it will be about time, you will simply get the necessary knowledge. Good night!"

I remained at the bar, I was sour, felt as a loser. I could have needed some money so well, why did he not tell me his little secret? There was money enough for both of us in the Casinos! I sat there paralyzed and cursed on him at first. But then I realized that I should have been thankful to get the chance watching him play. He did not owe me nothing, how could I ever expect him to tell me his secret!

From this moment on swore myself to do really everything to find out a winning strategy for roulette. For many years I visited many bookstores and libraries, that I could track down and tried to read all literature about roulette and game strategies. I invested into a mathematical long-distance-study, videos and cassettes and visited many seminars on probability and statistics. I searched and searched but to my despair I found nothing and in the end I even could not tell what I was looking for!

One day in May I woke up depressed and thought about stopping all my searching activities for good, I spontaneously decided to give it an absolute last try and go to Las Vegas once again. I flew to Phoenix, rented a Buick and set off. Around 350 miles before Las Vegas, in Holbrook, Arizona, I stopped the Buick on the old route 66 right in front of Joe and Aggies Cafe. I do not know why but I had to ask Aggie for a bookstore on the place. She said the next Barnes & Noble branch would be in Flagstaff. Suddenly I wanted to do a little walk before I drove on and so I left the cafe.

A few streets further I saw a nice antiques shop and entered. I asked the friendly salesperson for any books on roulette. "Well you are lucky. A cowboy from Las Vegas left us an old book here ome years ago. Said he did not need it any more since it had brought him so much luck. Here it is." He handed me a  a little, worn-out book and when he described the guy who left the book there on my request the man, I suddenly knew that it must have been that strange lad from Las Vegas with his unbelievable profit series I had met so many years before.

Reverential I opened that old, dusty book and read the year of print 1862 in it! My arousal was incredible, I felt my heart beat and suddenly I realized that my long search had found an end in Holbrook. Seemed that I had found what I had been looking for so many years! The booklet contained mathematical algorithms and formulas to calculate probabilities for the simple chances at the roulette. And it was even in German, so it probably was brought over to the States from an emigrant from Germany a long time ago. To be honest, the salesperson demanded a real fortune for that little unimpressive booklet but I gladly paid her this incredible price and left the store with an undescribable lucky feeling.

Finally I had found what I have been looking for such a long time, I remained two more days in my hotel in Holbrook and studied this little antique book line by line. That book became my personal roulette Bible! No need to say that my left days at the roulette tables of Las Vegas were extremely successful and much later on some of these valuable records in this old book contributed important algorithms to the development of my personally created realtime trend-analysis of Sam Wood's Roulette Hit.

In fact we offer it as a German eBook here.
